The Compass is a community-focused service that helps people navigate financial hardship and access essential support. The website introduces their mission in a friendly and approachable way, starting with a simple yet powerful question: "How are you?" It guides users through their journey using clear messaging, warm visuals, and a structured path to assistance.

The problem

The Compass team needed a website that could present sensitive topics—like debt, fuel poverty, and food insecurity—in a supportive and non-intimidating way. I developed the entire concept starting from the entry point of empathy ("How are you?") and built a clear user journey toward resolution through a visual section called "The Path". I was responsible for UI/UX design and full front-end development using HTML, SCSS, and GSAP for animation. Special attention was given to soft transitions, a calm and clean aesthetic, and structured content delivery to help users feel safe, seen, and supported.
